Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment involves the injection of high concentrations of Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) directly into the dermis. The PDGF is a powerful stimulator of collagen synthesis that, when applied, improves the appearance of flaccid, dehydrated and aged skin. It is currently also used to treat androgenetic alopecia due to its ability to promote hair growth.
The procedure is simple and consists of 3 steps:
- A small portion of the patient's blood is drawn.
- The blood is placed in a centrifuge for a few minutes to separate fibrin and platelets from blood cells.
- Fibrin and platelets are injected into the area to be treated.
